1 in 6 children in the greater Kansas City Metro area live in poverty. Their families do not have enough money to buy diapers. That can mean some babies stay in the same diaper for days.
You may not realize diapers are not covered by safety net programs. You can’t buy diapers with SNAP dollars (food stamps) WIC or anything. From the poverty statistics, we estimate about 4,000 children in our community need these diapers. The need for diapers never takes a holiday.
This holiday season, you could be one of the people who helps one or more of these children have a clean and happy bottom!
Here is what your dollars can provide:
S10 (Red) – diapers for one child for one month
$30 (Green) – diapers for one child for three months
$60 (Blue) – diapers for one child for six months
$120 (Silver) – diapers for one child for one year
$500 (Gold) – diapers for four children for one year
$1000 (Platinum) - diapers for eight children for one year
